Argues for a distinction between national Israel and spiritual Israel. Since the author views the latter as "fulfilled" in the church, this book is replacement theology disguised as "fulfillment theology." What this approach commonly ignores is Jesus' response to the disciples' last question before his ascension in Acts 1:6-9, which obviously confirms Jesus' stand for and not against a future restoration of the State of Israel as fulfillment of numerous O.T. prophecies, albeit postponed and secondary to the missionary task laid out ahead for the disciples, for which they would all give their lives.
